Billing and Insurance

Your membership covers all visits and direct access to Dr. Matin—so you’ll never pay a copay for your appointments. For materials or services beyond the visit itself, such as stitches, injections, lab tests, or certain medications administered in-office, these are offered at cost, and you may submit the charges to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
Our goal is to keep billing simple, transparent, and fair—so you can focus entirely on your health, not paperwork.

Our practice operates on a direct-pay, membership model, which gives you unlimited access to your MD and eliminates insurance paperwork during appointments. If you’d like, we can generate a super bill for each visit, which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

We welcome patients without insurance or who prefer not to use it. All services are available at fair cash prices in addition to the membership fee.

Any materials or services beyond the visit itself are offered at cost and may be submitted to insurance via a super bill, or paid out-of-pocket at our published rates. We maintain full transparency so there are no surprises—what you see is what you pay.

In most cases, no. Your membership covers all of your visits and access to Dr. Matin. The only time you may receive a bill is for materials or services beyond the visit itself—such as supplies for stitches, an injection, or certain in-office treatments. These are billed simply to cover our costs, never for profit.
We’ll let you know the exact cost upfront. You’ll never encounter surprise fees or hidden charges.

Yes. Your membership provides direct access to Dr. Matin and comprehensive primary care, but it doesn’t replace insurance. You’ll still need insurance for services outside our office—such as specialist visits, hospital care, emergency services, imaging, labs, and prescriptions.
We encourage all members to maintain health insurance coverage to ensure you’re fully protected, while enjoying the access and continuity that come with concierge care.

We don’t bill Medicare, but offer cash pricing.
For Medicare beneficiaries, we offer straightforward cash pricing for all services not covered by your plan.

Annual billing allows us to keep our patient panel small, provide highly personalized care, and avoid the administrative overhead of monthly payment processing. It also ensures your access to your physician is uninterrupted for the full year.

No, but you can use it for insurance-related costs.
IRS guidelines do not allow Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to be used for concierge membership fees. However, you may use your HSA or FSA card for qualified medical expenses billed through your insurance, such as deductibles, copays, prescriptions, and certain procedures.

Our downtown Manhattan Beach office on Highland Avenue offers a thoughtfully designed, elevated environment. We’re also happy to accommodate house calls or take appointments outside if you prefer a walk during your visit.

Your membership includes direct access to your physician by phone, text, or email for urgent concerns that arise after hours. We respond promptly whenever possible, but for life-threatening emergencies—or situations that cannot safely wait—please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Pediatric FAQs

Yes, we’re happy to care for children as part of your family membership. While we’re not a replacement for your child’s pediatrician, we can provide convenient supplemental care, especially for urgent needs or family-wide health concerns.

We do not administer routine childhood vaccinations or replace the role of your pediatrician for well-child care. We recommend maintaining a strong relationship with your pediatrician for developmental milestones, immunizations, and routine pediatric screenings.

We can help with everyday illnesses, minor injuries, school or travel forms, sports physicals and after-hours concerns—especially when your pediatrician may not be available. We’re also here to support the entire family’s wellness.
